Number of wineries worldwide certified as biodynamic by Demeter, the official certifying body. Globally, there are now just over 20,000 acres of vines being grown biodynamically. More than half of those vines are in France. In the U.S., 45 producers are Demeter-certified for their biodynamically grown vines. California has the most biodynamic vineyards, closely followed by Oregon. The first ever International Biodynamic Conference in the U.S. will happen this May in San Francisco.
