Purchase price (in billions of U.S.$) that Uber paid for Drizly, the local alcohol sales platform, last month after lockdown-driven growth in the app’s annual revenue. The ride-hailing giant launched Uber Eats, its online food ordering and delivery platform, in 2014 and intends to add wine, beer, and spirits. However, it will be up against many states with laws barring anyone other than employees of liquor stores from delivering alcohol.
