Part per trillion of TCA (the compound responsible for cork taint) that a new technology can detect. Called Solid Phase Micro Extraction, the process “smells” and analyses the headspace above each cork. In 2017,  SPME, combined with other newly developed technologies, may be able to reduce cork taint to .5 percent (equal to one drop of water in 800 Olympic sized swimming pools).
