Percentage of people with Covid-19 infections during the Delta surge who experienced diminished or lost sense of smell, even though only 55% of those people reported any problems with their ability to smell, according to a new study by Ohio State University scientists. Most of the Covid-infected people in the small study were vaccinated. The researchers worry that Covid could have long lasting detrimental effects on sensory function even among vaccinated individuals, and that affected people may be unaware of the loss they have experienced.
