Percentage increase in the S&P Global Luxury Index last year, causing it to reach its highest point in a decade despite the financial difficulties caused by the pandemic. The index tracks the 80 largest publicly traded luxury goods producers including, LVMH, Pernod Ricard, and Diageo. Analysts say the striking upswing is evidence of “a new era of luxury” for the already mega-rich and the greatest wealth transfer in history.
