Number of commercial wineries in Sweden. Together, these wineries (mostly family owned) have now planted nearly 400 acres of vines. A majority of Sweden’s vineyards are in the south of the country and on the islands of Gotland and Öland. A few Swedish vineyards are planted with Pinot Noir, but more commonly, the varieties planted are disease-resistant hybrids.
