Degrees Fahrenheit experienced by some of the French and Italian vineyards hit by devastating frosts over the past week and a half. The French government declared vineyards in Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, and the Rhône Valley an “agriculture disaster.” More than 50% of the 2021 Burgundy crop may be lost. The spring frosts came just when the vines had begun to bud out. A destroyed bud means no grape cluster will form.
