Estimated minimum amount in millions of U.S. dollars that Gallo, the world’s largest winery, recently paid for Napa Valley’s prestigious 600-acre Stagecoach Vineyard in the valley’s eastern hills. As we reported on June 2, Stagecoach sold grapes to nearly 100 wineries who now worry what their long term futures hold. In 1995 when the Stagecoach Vineyard was planted, more than 1 billion pounds of volcanic rock were removed to plant the vines.
