Amount (in US $) that the Washington cult winery Quilceda Creek raised recently to donate to Chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen. The money will go to help feed the victims of the war in Ukraine. The donation is especially poignant since Quilceda Creek’s owners, the Golitzan family, are descendants of Russian Prince Lev Sergeevich Galitzine, who was the acclaimed winemaker at the wine estate of Russian Czar Nicholas II. Quilceda Creek raised the funds by selling their first ever white wines (a Sauvignon Blanc and a Sauvignon blend) which were snapped up by collectors in under an hour.
