Months that the U.S. and EU have agreed to suspend retaliatory wine tariffs imposed in their dispute over aircraft manufacturing subsidies. Katherine Tai, the newly confirmed U.S. Trade Representative, quickly decided to lift the 25% U.S. tariff on French, German, and Spanish wines while negotiations continue in the aircraft dispute. In return, the EU cut tariffs on some US goods. The US tariffs were devastating to wine importers, distributors, retailers, and restaurants.
