Percentage drop in world wine production in 2021 versus last year. According to the OIV, extreme weather is to blame, especially in Europe. German wine regions experienced extreme flooding. In France, late spring frosts, summer rains, and droughts in the south took their toll. However, the U.S.’s preliminary estimates show 6% higher wine production compared to 2020 when the harvest was small due to wildfires and smoke taint.
