Average amount (in U.S. dollars) Gen X (born early 1960s to early 1980s) spends on wine annually. That’s more than the amount Baby Boomers and Millennials on average are willing to spend, or can afford to, according to a 2018 Wine Consumption Data Report by Wine Access. Gen X is also the most likely age group to buy higher-priced wines more than once a month. People over the age of 73 are the least likely.
