Price (in U.S dollars) of a ton of cabernet franc in the Napa Valley last year, making cabernet franc the highest priced grape variety grown in California. Cabernet sauvignon in Napa, by comparison, commanded $6,830. This was the first year that cabernet sauvignon was not the valley’s most expensive grape.
