Percentage accuracy of a new technology using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to “taste” and identify wines. Researchers at Maryland’s National Institute of Standards and Technology developed the technology and “trained” its “palate” using 13 markers to consider including, alcohol, color, and flavonoids. According to The Drinks Business magazine, the AI technology passed a difficult blind taste test with flying colors, although the scientists who developed it cautioned that it is not designed to be an “artificial sommelier.”
