The number of years since Prohibition officially started on January 17th, 1920. The 13-year-ban on alcohol is considered one of the most ineffective policies ever set forth by the U.S. government. Though it nearly destroyed the wine culture in the U.S., Prohibition was an early spring board for the country’s vibrant spirits industry.
