The amount donated (in millions of US $) this week to the Smithsonian for a permanent food and wine history curator. Benefactors Warren and Barbara Winiarski, former proprietors and founders of Napa Valley’s Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, gave the National Museum of American History the endowment to create a permanent position ensuring that wine will be included in American food and beverage history at the museum.
