Year that the Swiss Fête des Vignerons, the traditional celebration of Swiss Winegrowers, occurred for the first time, making it one of the oldest continuous wine festivals in the world. Alas, the three-week celebration takes place only once every 20 to 25 years in the wine region of Lavaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
