Many South African wines have an aroma or flavor that South Africans call fynbos (FEIGN boss). The name means “fine leaved plants” in Afrikaans and describes a distinctive heathland of restios, heather, irises, daisies, orchids, and other plant species. Fynbos is found only on the southern coastal tip of Africa.
