ALAMOS Torrontés 2015
(Salta, Argentina) $13
People always tell me that you can get great wine cheaply. I usually frown. (I have to taste a lot of cheap wine and much of it is awful). But here’s a real gem. With its bolt of freshness and its vivid exotic lime flavor, Alamos’ torrontés is lively, delicious, and gulpable. (Not to mention terrific with any kind of spicy food). Argentina’s great undervalued white, torrontés answers the question: how do I escape the rut of drinking the same few wines all the time?
