CHÊNE BLEU Rosé 2014
(IGP Vaucluse, Rhône Valley, France) $32
We plan to lay in some serious rosé this spring and we’ve already started tasting because rosé season is right around the corner. One of the highlights of a recent tasting: the Rhône Valley wine Chêne Bleu (named after an ancient blue oak tree on the winery’s estate). This isn’t just another simple sipper. It has a more subtle beauty to it. And while many rosés taste a bit like strawberry shortcake, Chêne Bleu bursts with more unusual flavors such as grapefruit and peaches. One cold sip will have you yearning for warm nights.
