Last night I tasted $600 worth of California pinot noirs, and this was the best of them by far. Foursight’s pinots are always ethereal wines that pull you into them. Never loud, never flashy, never brutish, they are sleek and quietly complex–the kind of pinot noirs that make you feel as though Grace Kelly just walked into the room. To me, this 2013 was reminiscent of the deep primal scent of dried mushrooms; and the flavors rode on notes of cranberries and roses. A pinot of restraint and elegance.
