One of the first wineries in the very cool Sta. Rita Hills of Santa Barbara County, Longoria makes exquisite pinot noirs that are (inexplicably) both elegant and have a core of beautiful fruit saturation at the same time. They are as hedonistic as pinot noir gets. And equally complex. This one from Fe Ciega Vineyard is, in the same moment, salty, floral, savory, spicy, and very earthy (the dark side of the forest indeed).
