Not only would this wine taste exquisite with steak, it is like biting into steak—a cool, dense core encased in a massive, crusty structure. The long, spicy, mineraly, chocolatey, animali  flavors fire on all cylinders. A skyscraper of immense tannin at the moment, it needs decanting and a few hours open if you serve it now. Better yet, stash it away for a few years. By that time, the racehorse might have slowed down just a little.
