WILLIAM FÉVRE “Champs Royaux” Chablis 2014

A friend recently described a California chardonnay as like “climbing into leopard print footsie pajamas.” That would certainly not describe this chardonnay. Am I alone in thinking that if God meant there to be chardonnay, he meant it to be elegant? Champs Royaux is just the simple, basic Chablis of William Fevre, yet the wine is a tight splash of delicious minerality. Sometimes, less really is more.
