Amount (in U.S. dollar) spent on beer on St. Patrick’s Day in the U.S. Guinness estimates that about 13 million of their pints will be sold on the holiday. 51.2% of Americans plan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and of the celebrators, 82% say they will wear green. On average, a celebrator will spend $35.40 on beer on the holiday—which happens to be the 4th biggest drinking holiday in America behind New Year’s Eve, Christmas, and the 4th of July. Interestingly, across the U.S., about 39.6 million people claim Irish heritage – almost 7 times Ireland’s population.
