Median salary (in U.S. dollars) earned by sommeliers in the United States last year, according to GuildSomm’s Salary Survey. The finding was based on a sample of 1,134 respondents. Not surprisingly, sommeliers who earned the most were those with the highest credentials, most years of experience, and who worked in major cities. Male sommeliers made slightly more than female sommeliers although the gender wage gap was less than the national average (i.e.: currently, U.S. women are paid approximately 80 percent of what U.S. men are paid for similar work).
