Approximate value (in millions of U.S.$) of losses sustained by French wineries in the first two months following Donald Trump’s implementation of a 25% tariff on French wine. The drastic fall in wine exports to the U.S. has caused France to appeal to the E.U. for compensation for the losses. Exports of French wine to the U.S. totaled $130 million in October 2019. By December, the figure was $55.7 million.
